\u2022 Travel Required**\nSummary\nLoad and transport oversized loads of equipment and supplies to various job sites.\nEssential Duties And Responsibilities\n\u2022 Check transport vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order and in accordance with DOT requirements.\n\u2022 Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and\n...\nchecking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.\n\u2022 Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.\n\u2022 Maintain logs of working hours and/or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.\n\u2022 Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.\n\u2022 Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.\n\u2022 Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and to comply with state regulations.\n\u2022 Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products, earth moving equipment, general construction and forestry machinery, or other materials.\n\u2022 Ability to understand and comply with safety considerations as set herein and others required for the position.\nRequirements\n\u2022 Valid CDL Driver\u2019s license and medical certification\n\u2022 Practice good safety habits from company and as required under Federal and State DOT\n\u2022 Must be able to read road maps and work in dusty or dirty surroundings\n\u2022 Follow instructions and meet set standards for hauling and scheduling\n\u2022 Judge distances and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards\n\u2022 Maintains visibility with operator throughout course of loading and unloading trailer\n\u2022 Have good vision and hearing (either naturally or with correction)\n\u2022 Frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted\n\u2022 Routine climbing into/out of equipment while maintaining 3 points of contact\n\u2022 Follows Company and FDOT safety requirements in performance of duties\nEducation And Experience\n\u2022 High school diploma preferred and one year related experience.\n\u2022 Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement. Must have a clean driver record.\nCandidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
