These materials are most often produced from natural deposits of limestone and river sand. Our mining process typically begins with drilling and blasting the rock into sm\n...\naller pieces. The material goes through various stages of crushing and screening to produce the sizes and specifications desired by our customers.\nAbout the Position\nCDL Drivers are responsible for transporting rock, sand, and other materials from distribution center to customer locations. Drivers are also required to perform inspections before and after a trip, and load and unload products from the trailer to customer facilities. Drivers also follow appropriate safety procedures to transport dangerous cargo and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours.\n\u2022 Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location\n\u2022 Operate and drive a truck in a safe and efficient manner adhering to the FMCSA and MSHA rules and regulations\n\u2022 Inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed\n\u2022 Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections\n\u2022 Complete and maintain a Daily Short-Haul Log Book\n\u2022 Assist maintenance with repairs as needed\n\u2022 Provide appropriate documentation on delivery tickets\n\u2022 Ensure all delivery tickets are signed and returned to the plant\n\u2022 Exercise good judgment regarding work site access, unloading, and operation to and from delivery site\n\u2022 Maintain good customer relations by acting in a professional and courteous manner\n\u2022 Continuously follow all safety rules and work in safe and efficient manner\n\u2022 Monday through Friday day shift with occasional Saturdays\nKEY RESPONSIBILITES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\u2022 Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forty by company policies, FMCSA and MSHA.\n\u2022 Ability and knowledge to operate and monitor equipment in a safe and efficient manner.\n\u2022 Ability to perform pre-shift inspections\n\u2022 Keep truck and trailer clean, inside and outside.\n\u2022 Ability to comprehend and complete all needed paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.\n\u2022 Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\n\u2022 Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 75 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. frequently.\n\u2022 Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders.\n\u2022 Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.\n\u2022 Ability to use vibration producing tools frequently.\n\u2022 Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.\n\u2022 Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting.\n\u2022 Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces.\nREQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:\n\u2022 1 year verifiable Class A CDL driving experience\n\u2022 Clean MVR\n\u2022 No Violations in DOT Clearinghouse.\n\u2022 High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.\n\u2022 Excellent safety and attendance record.\n\u2022 Willingness to do other work as needed, including heavy labor.\n\u2022 Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, over time and weekends as required.\n\u2022 Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment.\nLocation\nFT SMITH, AR\nWe are an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to a policy of non-discrimination in employment on any basis including age, sex, color, race, creed, national origin, religious persuasion, marital status, political belief, or disability that does not prohibit performance of essential job functions.\nFederal Law prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens.
